At BMS, we are driven by the principle of protecting livelihoods. At the heart of this is consideration for ones personal income.
That’s where Personal Accident and Illness insurance comes in to play.
In the event of an accident or illness, PA can assist with financial commitments and essential bills, thereby delivering peace of mind and the comfort of knowing that, should the unforeseen occur, ones focus can turn to getting better.
Please refer to our general advice notice.
What can it cover?
Personal Accident and Illness insurance provides cover as a portion of the insured person’s income (up to 85% of weekly earnings) if they are unable to work due to a covered event arising from a bodily injury or illness.
Your policy allows you to choose either accident only, or accident and illness cover combined. You can also choose lump sum payments (capital benefit) for the following:
- death by accident
- certain permanent partial disablement
- temporary total disablement and/or temporary partial disablement.
Personal Accident and illness cover is particularly valuable for sole-traders, contractors and small-business owners, as in most Australia states and territories, individuals and sole traders cannot purchase Workers Compensation Insurance making Personal Accident and Illness cover essential to insure their most valuable asset… themselves.
